Looks: Much flatter than the noodles on the box, and where are the carrots? The sauce too is lacking, making the whole dish stick together rather than fluff up like on the package. 3 out of 5
Taste: It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible. It had a nice subtle chicken flavor, and while most of the noodles cooked nicely, the hard bits of uncooked pasta that somehow didn’t cook at all almost ruined it. As I was eating it, I was thinking about how I would score its taste. I would take a couple bites, enjoy them, and think, “It’s maybe a 4.” Then I would get a bite that had a hard piece of pasta that managed not to cook, and I’d think “Not so fast, 4.” If the pasta had all been cooked, it might have ended up with a 3.5. 2.5 out of 5
That was a roller coaster of a review 🙂
This is the first product I’ve seen you rate that I have ever tried. I get this from time to time, maybe two or three times a year, as a cheap and fast side dish with chicken wings. I find that it suits that purpose well, if not spectacularly. I’ve never had a problem with noodles not cooking when I’ve made it in a non-stick pot so maybe that would help.
I haven’t particularly enjoyed the other flavours in the same line. The rest were gooey-starch-flavoured and that’s it.
If the texture of the noodles was off, it’s because you can’t manage to cook a bagged noodle product properly. Did you put enough water in? Did you dump in the bag and ignore the pot for fifteen minutes? The carrots missing, etc are all valid points, but getting a hard bit of noodle could only have happened because you didn’t stir them.
The comment about the uneven cooking of the noodles being your fault is completely true. I’m eating a variation of this same meal as I type. Somehow I managed to cook everything evenly. By the way, there are several cooking suggestions on the back of each packet. I would think that you used the stove top, but you should specify next time. You should definitely review Knorr Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo if you’re willing to try it, as it has a lot more broccoli, and has carrots.
For me, Knorr’s sides are like Ramen Noodles, you have to add a few additional ingredients to make them great. I usually add sharp cheddar cheese, then a bit of whipped cream cheese and Chipotle Tobasco Sauce. If I have smoked sausage I will sometimes chop it up and add it too. Just a suggestion!! 🙂
I thought that it was absolutely delicious and they taste way better than Ramen Noodles, and they are only a dollar
