Looks: Remember how the Pizza Rolls looked like they were singing? Well these Cordon Bleu Bites look like they’re puking their literal guts out. Even after cooling for a few minutes, the filling wasn’t thick enough to remain inside the bites, and instead poured and popped out with every bite. 3.5 out of 5
Taste: I thought they were just ok – the filling didn’t have much flavor and it gummed up my mouth, and the outer chicken sphere was a little dry. My wife, on the other hand, thought they were quite good; she liked the crunchiness of the breading and the cheesiness of the filling. (I already knew she loved cheesy things; she married me, didn’t she? *ba-dum-bum*) 3.5 out of 5
Side note: Over the weekend, I put together a more professional setup for taking these photographs. I built a light tent, purchased some dedicated lighting, and I’ve started experimenting with the advanced features of my camera. Today’s post is the first food picture I took in the new setup. What say you, Internet – is it an improvement?
I might not have noticed had you not said anything, as there was nothing wrong with your photos before, but yeah…that’s a fantastic shot. Now as far as that “rimshot” joke…not so much ๐
Light tent = definite improvement.
New set up looks great! Why is that front chicken ball floating/hovering in the air though?
Much better, as you won’t get shadows and shiney counters like with the Wendy’s one you did a few posts ago. You might want to get another frosty to see if the lighting tent makes a difference ๐
Yes, it’s quite an improvement. Thank you…
Much better lighting!
Would it be possible for you to include a picture of the back of the box, so we can check out the ingredients and nutrutional values?
I’ve thought your photography has looked great all along, so I’d have to compare photos side by side to see if there’s a difference. In any case, love your blog! I don’t eat most of this stuff — trying to cut down on processed food — but I still find this very informative.
looks neat, congrats (:
Your pictures were good before, but this is professional grade. Excellent job!
PS: does anyone reading the blog know what Tyson means by “rib meat”?
The photo definitely looks more professional than many of your past shots. As for the filling- it definitely detracts the glory of the picture, because it honestly looks a bit like a vomited-up version of the advertised filling.
Each chicken ball has a slight magnetic charge, so it is being repelled off of the plate by the other pieces of chicken.
I do have more “Free Frosty” coupons, so I might just do that.
Those little chicken balls are horrifying.
I think the filling on the boxes looks even worse. It looks like a particularly full tumour.
Great photo! Could you perhaps also include a super close-up of the food as well as the usual plated appearance?
I love this site for quick reviews on what I consider “drunk food”. If these rate a 3.5 overall sober, then under the influence they should be edible, and possibly even down right tasty.
Do you still sell these? I havenโt seen in any grocery stores
