Looks: Not much to say here; they look exactly like they do on the package. (Depending on your preferred skin tone, just adjust the baking time to get your color of choice.) 5 out of 5
Taste: They don’t have much of a taste, although the entertainment factor of eating faces makes them more enjoyable to eat than your average tator tot. However, even slathered with ketchup, these smileys are extremely dry. After eating only a few, they had sapped all of the saliva out of my mouth, and after I finished a plateful, I had to be put on an IV in order to rehydrate. 2 out of 5
They look like Powder from the movie “Powder”. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114168/
They are tasty, but I agree that they’ll dry your mouth out right quick!
i know some may like the mashed potato shapes, but it just doesn’t appeal to me as far as taste and texture… they do look fun at least.
dry? did you over cook them?
every time i make them they’re not at all dry. the inside is like mashed potatoes while the outside is like french fries. they’re very good.
I love Potato Smileys!
Dry? You didn’t cook them right. I cook mine in a baking pan without ANY oil, nonstick spray, anything, and they’e super moist inside, nice and crunchy outside.
They also have a lot of flavor…a bit tangy and very creamy.
Dear makers of smiles we love your product. But we were just trying to figure out how many smiles are in 3 onces. We are trying to make good lifestyle choices and one of those is portion control. We shouldn’t have to dump the bag and court the contents and divid by 9 . A product so processed I’m sure you know how many smiles are in three onces so why not print it on the package that would be very appreciated by everyone:)
looks real good… and taste pretty good actually. There’s this other site called ‘Fast food in real life’ http://www.ffirl.com that does kind of the same stuff as you do; comparing the box or ‘ads’ to the reality.
Where do I find them in colton,ca.
