Jimmy Dean Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Entree

Looks: The entire thing looks like it’s had the air taken out of it. Did I accidentally step into my vacuum chamber again? 3.5 out of 5

Taste: I reviewed the potatoes and apples in a previous post; their presence gives this meal a maximum possible score of 3.5 out of 5. The croissant sandwich is actually quite good – not good in terms of real croissants, real sausages, or real cheeses, but good in terms of “I’m late for work and need something to shove in my mouth on the way there.” It reminded me very much of the croissant sandwiches that Burger King sells for breakfast – soft and not too spicy. This passable sandwich brings the overall meal average to 3 out of 5. 3 out of 5

Jimmy Dean Scrambled Eggs with Bacon and Cheese

Looks: Small differences: the eggs are not so cheesy in real life, and the apples lack any sort of sauce or extra moisture. If you squint, the two pictures look pretty much the same. 4 out of 5

Taste: Good, and good for you!

Jimmy Dean Scrambled Eggs with Bacon and Cheese - Nutrition

Just kidding. The eggs were dry and uncheesy; the potatoes were rubbery and tasteless. The sad little apple pieces were actually the best part of this meal, but that’s not saying much at all. Nothing tasted terrible, and if I was in a hurry and really needed to get my cholesterol levels up, this would be an ok choice. Other than that exact situation, I can’t see ever eating this again. 1.5 out of 5

Healthy Choice Turkey Medallions

Looks: Well, the squash and cranberries look right. Maybe they forget to put the turkey in this one… 1.5 out of 5

Taste: The highlight of this meal was the cranberries that were mixed in with the squash. The turkey was so hard to find in the potatoes that I’m not sure it was there, and the potatoes (or possibly turkey covered in potatoes) were alternately mushy and lumpy, without hardly any flavor at all. 1.5 out of 5

Healthy Choice Pumpkin Squash Ravioli - Ad

Healthy Choice Pumpkin Squash Ravioli

Looks: The entire dish lacks the shininess of the meal on the box; the ravioli look dry, and the vegetables appear mushy and overcooked. The sizing is right, but the ravioli filling isn’t as substantial as it should be. 3 out of 5

Taste: Meh. The ravioli are too chewy, and the filling has a bitter aftertaste. I did enjoy the sauce though – kind of sweet, but buttery. The cooked apples are a nice touch too, but there aren’t enough of them to make up for the lackluster pasta. 2 out of 5
