I bought these for the first time several months ago on a coupon, "buy shells and cheese, get cup 'o' shells and cheese for $1." The first time I tried them, to be honest, they were nowhere near the "real deal" (true shells and cheese). The pasta wasn't fully cooked and was very "crunchy". I tried them again tonight, and added a bit more water and 30 seconds more in the microwave, (after taking them out and stirring, per the directions) before adding the cheese sauce. Haven't finished the cup yet, but so far, so good - and much better than my last experience. Still not the "real deal" but a close second...

This is one of my favorite reviews, particularly because it's the only thing I've actually ever tried (recently) that has been reviewed on this site. Velveeta Shells & Cheese Cups are delicious. I bought two just yesterday because I felt that they were going to taste just as good to me as you mentioned that they did to you. I had my second one when I got home today, and I think I'm going to buy a surplus of this delicious food. They are a bit pricey for such a small portion, and that's the only factor keeping me, personally, from having this every day for the rest of my life as a midnight or lunchtime snack. However, the shells and cheese are on point and taste just as good as they look. When I made them to my own tweaked specifications (something I'm known to do with microwavable foods), it came out just the way it looks here. Instead of what's mentioned on the cup, which is, I think, 3 1/2 minutes, I microwaved mine for 2 minutes. I normally despise any foods that I need to microwave because they always come out horribly dry or burnt at the edges when I make them to exact boxing instructions. This just really looked too good, though. Thanks for the review!

I made one of these once and it never got near my mouth! It was so SLIMY (pre-cheese), that I just couldn't do it. It kind of reminded you of pasta covered in that slime you used to be able to get out of gum ball machines.

Velveeta Shells and Cheese is the best boxed macaroni out there, I wouldn't need much persuasion to try the insta-cup. Maybe it's because it as always a treat when I was growing up but it's always been my favorite. Especially when it's really hot.

My wife is very good with coupons, so we either got them for free or for pennies. Normally though, I think they go for ~$1.

I always wondered if it was good, but didn't really want to take the chance after trying the Kraft Easy Mac (ew!) - thanks for the review. Though as Blurgle said - it looks like there are only a few bites in there!

That looks like about three mouthfuls of food. How much does that cost?
